First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at International Paper.
Engineer
I had a phone call where we discussed the programs, and the next step was an onsite interview. They asked about my background and mainly discussed the role. The job itself sounded great, but career progression was dependent on relocating to different factory locations every few years.
- Would you be amenable to relocating every 2 to 5 years?
Engineer
Applied online and then heard back after a few weeks. First, there was a phone interview and screening. After that, I had a panel interview with upper management, which also included a mill tour and ample time for questions.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to manage a conflict situation?
Engineer
The entire process took about six months, which felt pretty long. I went through four interviews in total, and each one had a different person interviewing me. The interviews covered a range of topics like personal skills, management abilities, job-specific requirements, and how well I could present myself. It was a bit frustrating that it took so long for just four interviews.
