The hiring process involved two main stages for the skills assessment. First, there was a portfolio review, followed by a competency-based test. While not overly difficult, it was evident the team was on the smaller side and placed significant importance on how a candidate navigates challenging situations.

There were 3 interviews in total. The first was a phone screen with the HR Recruiter, covering basic questions about my experience, why I'm applying, and my salary expectations. The second was with the Hiring Manager, where we discussed my past experience, explored situational scenarios, and talked about career growth expectations. The last interview was with the other HR Team Members, focusing more on my prior experience, knowledge, systems I've used, my work approach, and how well I'd fit in.

The interview process was really straightforward, I spoke with a selection of the design team for about 45 minutes and spent about 20 minutes on a "test" which involved questions about photoshop and then a formatting test. I was having internet connection issues and the team was understanding and kind. I was ultimately passed over for another candidate with more recent experience of a similar position but the team was open to giving me direct feedback from the interview which has become rare and was really appreciated.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a super thorough interview process. I started with a phone screen, then had a 1:1, followed by a panel interview, and then took a personality test and did a presentation. The panel was with three managers who are essentially clients for this role. I also met with my future manager's boss. The whole thing took a while and was a bit drawn out since some folks travel and we had to find a time that worked for everyone. They did a pretty good job of keeping me updated on the progress, which was nice compared to other places where you just hear nothing.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you share an instance from your past work where you accomplished a specific goal?
  • Describe a situation where you utilized your technical expertise to solve a problem.
  • Tell me about a time you demonstrated your ability to apply your knowledge effectively.
