First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intermountain Health.
Executive Administrative Assistant
The manager and the team were impressive. The interview had a traditional question flow and I felt comfortable sharing my thoughts. However, the HR department needs to improve their job descriptions, as they seemed hastily put together back in 2021.
- Can you go over your experience and how it aligns with the requirements of this position?
Executive Administrative Assistant
I applied to a bunch of jobs like this one and only heard back from three people. I kept getting emails saying I was still being considered, but only one department actually interviewed me. That whole process took weeks, and then at the very last minute, they canceled the second interview, saying they had already hired someone else. I think their prescreening program is making it hard to get good people into the company. Sometimes requirements that were supposed to be 'preferred' all of a sudden became mandatory in the prescreening, even if they weren't important for the job. And other times, you'd meet all the qualifications and still get no response from the department. It's impossible to reach the right recruiters unless you have an inside connection. Despite all that, Intermountain is a great company with strong values and a good vision. I'd be lucky to work there someday.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to resolve a conflict among colleagues or staff.
Administrative Assistant
A friend who works at a staffing agency told me about the job and knew I was interested in Intermountain. She asked if she could pass my resume to them. They asked for an in-person interview the following week. I had the in-person interview, and they made an offer a few days later. There was then a delay to get all the required immunizations.
