Sales Development Representative
First up was a 15-minute recruiter screening call. They're checking if you're a good fit and want to get to know you. Make sure you're ready to talk about your experiences and why you're interested in joining Intercom.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process at Intercom felt personalized and engaging. My recruiter kept in touch and set up good interviews with the hiring manager and team. Everyone seemed to really connect with the company's values and culture. For example, interviewers researched my background beforehand instead of asking me to explain my previous companies. This personal touch made the remote interview experience better. The role play part was challenging; unlike typical interviews that are just conversations, this one involved objection handling for Intercom. The feedback provided was helpful and delivered professionally.
- What makes you want to join Intercom?
- What motivated you to pursue a career in sales?
Sales Development Representative
I got an email from the recruiter, then had a phone interview, and then an in person interview. The SDR manager was really unwelcoming, even saying I should have researched him better on LinkedIn when I didn't even have his last name. I had to chase the recruiter to set up the phone interview. I was excited for the call, but he was confrontational from the start, making me wonder why after just two minutes on the phone. I wanted to learn about the company and expected a warm conversation, not this. It was a disappointing experience, especially from a great young company like Intercom.
- So, why are you interested in Intercom?
- Can you explain your preference for inbound sales over outbound?
- Could you walk me through your background?
