The interview process was great – clear, quick, and they gave feedback. It started with a screening, then a culture interview with the Hiring Manager, and finished with a pitch to a Sales Engineer, the Hiring Manager, and the Sales Director. They asked me to pitch my current company.

I first had a chat with the VP of Sales, it was a phone call to get to know each other and our thoughts on sales. They wanted to see if I could ask good questions, was curious, excited about the product, and could figure out business models. After some emails, we met up in person for a coffee/beer. Then I met with some other folks at the company. Finally, I did a 30-minute demo of another product to the VP of Sales, to check out my demo skills. Keep in mind, this was when the team was just starting, so things were a bit different then.

I was contacted by a recruiter at Intercom for an Account Executive role. The recruiter conversation was good, but the hiring manager was not. The hiring manager was almost 10 minutes late to our 30 minute interview and didn't say anything about it. He asked standard sales interview questions like what my current role and product were. He also said that my current product couldn't be SaaS because it wasn't subscription-based, which is incorrect. I later got an email from the recruiter stating that the hiring manager didn't think I was a good fit due to my experience not aligning.
