First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intelsat.
Data Science Intern
I had a few rounds for this. First was with HR for a typical behavioral chat. Then, a technical interview with a team member where we shared screens. This involved Python, so brush up on data science Python and ML coding. Next up was a case interview with another team member. I'd suggest getting familiar with ML cases, including how to approach models, evaluation metrics, and troubleshooting. The final round was an interview with the hiring manager.
- Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Data Scientist
The interview process started with an HR screening, which was like a general HR call. After that, there was a Python interview that lasted about 45 minutes. They sent a CSV file and asked data wrangling questions. The third round involved an ML, analytics, and product-focused interview with three members. They asked ML-related questions and how to model a real-life business problem. Finally, there was a behavioral panel interview with three members. I passed all interviews, but was told the role was cancelled this year due to budget issues. The HR was friendly and helpful, and assured me the role wouldn't be affected by the company merging, but it felt like a waste of time. I won't apply again.
- What makes you interested in this position?
- Could you explain how you would approach modeling the in-flight experience?
- Describe your process for modeling a real-world business problem.
Corporate Strategy Analyst
The interview process had 3 rounds. It started with HR screening, then a phone call with the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview. I think the last interview with the hiring manager's manager was just for formality. Most questions were behavioral, but there were some simple technical ones like P&L and questions about industry knowledge such as competitors.
- What information do you have regarding Intelsat?
- Could you describe Intelsat's revenue streams?
- What do you know about Intelstat and its business model?
Program Manager
After sending in my resume, I heard back from the recruiter within about two weeks. Once I passed their initial checks, I had two more interviews lined up. One was a panel interview, and the other was with someone more senior. This all happened over a couple of weeks. It was a pretty smooth process overall, and the people I talked to were really nice and upfront about everything.
- Can you walk me through your background and experience?
- Describe your approach to collaborating with various teams when faced with conflicting priorities.
- How do you handle interactions with difficult colleagues?
