Behavioral Technical Case

Getting a research analyst job means going through a few interviews to see if you're good at the technical stuff, your research skills, and if you'll fit in. First, there's usually a chat with HR or a recruiter to go over your resume, why you want to work here, and if you meet the basic requirements. Then, the hiring manager will call to dig into your research background and technical abilities, like research methods, data analysis, and software skills. Be ready to talk about projects you've done and how you solved research issues. The next step is an in-person or video interview, possibly with the hiring manager and senior analysts. Here, you'll show off your research skills and how well you communicate. They'll ask about your technical know-how, give you case studies to see how you use data to solve problems, and check your soft skills like explaining research clearly, thinking critically, and working in a team. You can also ask them questions. Sometimes, there are extra tests like a take-home assignment or a short project to really check your research and data analysis skills. After everything, thank everyone and keep in touch with the recruiter. Make sure to research the company and the role well, prepare examples, and practice explaining things clearly. Thinking about common questions and having answers ready will help a lot.

Applied via referral based on recent tech, then had a technical interview focusing on resume skills. There was supposed to be an assignment round which is important, but I didn't get there because I got screened out in the technical round, which was a bit expected. The questions were different than I thought, and I got stuck on some topics. You really need to nail about 90% of the questions to have a good shot; 80% won't cut it.

The interview process had 3 rounds. First was an online Group Discussion. Then, instead of a direct interview, we took a 20-min online aptitude test. The roles (BDE, Digital Marketing, TRA, Operations) were assigned based on the aptitude test scores, not our skills or interests. After that, we had an interview where they asked questions related to our CV and the roles they assigned us. They selected about 60 students from our university and extended job offers. However, after one month on the job, Technical Research Analysts were asked to do sales, with their stipend dependent on performance. This led about 50% of the students to quit and return to university.
