Software Engineer
So after talking to a recruiter about a front end role, especially needing JS/Angular 2+ skills, I had to do a timed online test at home. It had three coding challenges, CSS/JS only, with super tight time limits (like 5 mins each) and a strict auto-grader that didn't allow older JS syntax. I only managed to solve 2 out of 3. Then, I got invited for an interview at their Sydney office. Two Software Engineers interviewed me first, asking technical stuff and then about my past work and personal projects. After that, a Team Lead talked to me about my experience and I got to ask about the company. I think there was a background check too before the offer.
- How would you style four div elements to occupy each corner of the page?
- Describe how to implement a card-clicking game: clicking a card toggles red to blue; clicking another card resets others to blue; clicking a red card again turns it blue.
- How would you implement this game using plain HTML/CSS/Javascript?
Staff Accountant
They really stretched out the interview process. It took way longer than it should have. Before anything else, I had to do a 4-hour career aptitude test. The first day was just a standard interview. The next day, they called me back for almost the exact same questions, just with one extra person. Even after a week, they wouldn't give me a straight answer, just saying I was "still being considered." They mentioned I was one of about 6 people interviewing. This seemed like a lot of people and a waste of my time, especially since it's an entry-level job that pays way below average. In the end, they said I didn't do well on the English/Vocabulary part of the online test. What a joke for an accounting job! Why interview me if I failed that? Unprofessional and dishonest. Avoid this place!
- Why were you interested in Investor Relations?
Graduate Program
After they screen your resume, they send over an assignment. If that assignment goes well, they'll set up a phone interview to chat about your solution and see if you're a good cultural fit. If you pass that, the final step is a face-to-face interview where they'll fly you down to Sydney.
- For the assignment, please code in the language you're most comfortable with.
Sales
Got asked some typical sales interview questions about technology and meeting quotas. Also asked about using Salesforce, how I'd approach new and existing customers, why I like sales, how long I've been doing it, and about growth opportunities.
- Can you tell me how you plan out your upcoming week?
