First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Integrated Project Management Company.
Associate Consultant
The interview process began with a phone screen. This was followed by a second round with two in-person interviews, one with a manager and another with a director. The final round was a lengthy 5.5-hour in-person interview day. This included a panel presentation focusing on behavioral questions, an interview with the president, an interview with the CEO, and a lunch with another consultant. Most of the questions were culture-focused, as they really prioritized finding culture fits. It was a very long process, but it was helpful for figuring out if it's a place you'd want to work. In the end, their offer wasn't competitive and they said there was no room for negotiation. I also learned that the CEO has a negative outlook on young people and their work ethic, which didn't feel right to me.
- Can you explain why you believe you'd be a strong candidate for IPM?
Consultant
A couple days after I applied, I got an email to schedule a phone interview with HR to talk about my application. The call was chill and I got to ask about the role and they got to know me better. After that, I got invited to a two-hour in-person interview at the Boston office with the regional director and another director. We each talked for an hour. I got to introduce myself, talk about my experience, why I wanted this job, and what they were looking for. The next week, HR called to say they wanted me to come to Chicago for a full day interview to meet the CEO, Executive VP, and a current consultant. I also had to give a 1.5-hour presentation during a panel interview. The interviews, especially with the CEO, were really about getting to know me as a person and seeing if I'd fit the IPM culture. The presentation was to show my management style and see if it matched what they needed. It took a lot of prep, but it was a good experience.
- Can you describe your personal brand?
Project Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a phone screen with a recruiter. Then, I had two personality interviews with local management on the same day, each lasting an hour. After that, there was a remote series of interviews that took up a whole day. This remote part included two 1-hour personality interviews (one with the CEO), a 1.5-hour panel presentation with three people, and a 1-hour chat with a current consultant. That last chat was just for me to ask questions and didn't affect hiring. The whole thing took about a month from the first call to getting the offer.
- Can you tell me about yourself without referring to your resume?
Executive Assistant
So first, I had a phone chat with someone from HR. They were super nice and clear about what the job was, the company vibe, and what skills they needed. A few days after, I went in to meet the HR person again, one of the execs, and the EA who was retiring. Each meeting was about an hour. The next week, I went back for the final interviews with three more execs, including the CEO, and two people I'd be working with closely. The CEO took me to lunch after. That day was long, but everyone was really friendly and easy to talk to. Oh, and that last interview day also had a writing and editing test that took about an hour.
- Can you share an experience from your life, personal or professional, where you faced a significant challenge and describe what you took away from it?
