The interview process started with a quick phone chat about salary expectations, no room for negotiation there. Then I interviewed with the department supervisor, which was mainly a 'get to know you' session focusing on my work style and future aspirations. A few days later, I was invited back for a longer, nearly hour-long meeting with the Senior Project Management team. It was a bit intimidating with 8-10 people asking a barrage of questions, but honestly, it was also kind of fun. I got the job offer a few days after that. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward process.

The first interview was a phone screen where they asked about my salary expectations, my reasons for leaving my current role, and my availability to interview with others at the agency. The second interview was with HR and the Director of PM. The third interview was with Senior Project Managers.

The process started with a written interview from the recruiter. Then HR set up an in-person interview with the team, where I met 4 people in one day. They asked the same questions repeatedly, which felt inefficient, like they could have brought the whole committee together at once. After that, HR had me meet with the leadership team. One person was late and kept me waiting. This meeting had 6 people and lasted about 3 hours. I got a tour and learned about their work. They gave me business cards and encouraged questions, but my follow-up emails went unanswered. Two weeks later, HR said they were still interviewing, even though the role was reposted. Finally, six weeks after the initial meetings, I was told they chose a more qualified candidate.
