Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intact Insurance UK.
Actuarial Graduate
I had an online test with math questions that were doable and relevant, with reasonable time limits. Then there was a phone call where they asked about me and why I wanted to join RSA. It was pretty chill if you'd done your homework. The last part was an in-person assessment day where I met some team leaders. Everyone was super nice! We started with a video about the company's history and then a quick icebreaker game with the other candidates. After that, there was a case study where another candidate and I looked at an info pack and figured out which products to buy for a given company. I also had to come up with a business idea for RSA before the assessment day to present to two people. They seemed really interested and asked good questions.
- Can you tell me about RSA’s values and any competency-based questions?
- How would you approach building customer relationships?
- What is your experience in this field?
Actuarial Intern
I applied for the actuarial intern role and completed online tests which weren't too difficult if you've practiced verbal and numerical reasoning, and had three days for each. I was then invited to a phone interview fairly quickly, with only a couple of days to prepare. It was mostly competency-based, asking things like "Why RSA?". The interviewer was very friendly and the whole interview felt really relaxed. I've now been invited to an assessment centre which starts in March, and I'm not entirely sure what to expect.
- Can you tell me why you chose RSA and why you are interested in this specific role?
Actuarial Analyst
Campus recruitment for the Actuarial Analyst role involved an aptitude test with quantitative aptitude (qa), logical reasoning and data interpretation (lrdi), and verbal ability and reading comprehension (varc) sections. Following this, there was an application form submission. The HR interview was conducted online, as was a case study interview focused on the insurance sector, which I unfortunately did not pass. There were further rounds of interviews planned.
- Can you tell me what you know about actuarial science?
