Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.
Customer Service Representative
The interview felt artificial and fake. It began as usual with me talking about myself and my motivation for wanting to work there. Then, they started asking vague questions that don't have clear answers; basically, you're left to the interviewer's perception of your personality.
- What elements contribute to excellent teamwork?
Customer Service Associate
I applied and a recruiter talked to me by phone and then Skype. When a job I was interested in came up, she sent my application to ICBC and scheduled me for an interview the next week. I was interviewed by my future manager and one other person who took turns asking questions. The next day, they called me to say I was chosen and I'd get the offer by email. After that, HR handled the rest of the process.
- Can you share some of your customer service experiences?
- How do you handle different customer service situations?
- Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer.
Customer Service Representative
Applied online and then the HR recruiter emailed to schedule a phone interview. Completed 3 data entry tests online. After the phone interview, I had a face to face interview with the supervisor and manager. They asked situational and behavioral questions. Received a conditional offer.
- Can you share an instance where you provided exceptional customer service?
- Describe a time you had to decline a customer's request and explain your approach.
- Tell me about a situation where you managed a customer who was upset.
