First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Instawork.
Account Executive
Submitted a resume, had a couple of emails, then a 1-hour phone call, followed by two on-site interviews. The process can be fast, so be ready. This is common at startups, assume you'll talk to a hiring manager, not HR.
- Did you research the company before the call or interview?
Account Executive
It started with a recruiter call, and then I interviewed with the recruiter. After that, I had an interview with the VP of Sales, which went well. The onsite interview involved meeting the VP, but the welcome wasn't very warm. Two hiring managers were giggling when I walked in, making me wonder if the whole interview was a joke. There were three separate interviews. The VP was rushing through questions, and the second interviewer seemed uninterested, quickly asking if I had any questions. The third interviewer was the sales ips manager, who was cool and took the time to answer my questions. Overall, the experience felt like a joke, and I suspect there's age discrimination, with a preference for hiring young, inexperienced people. I'd advise staying away unless you want to be treated poorly.
- Can you tell me about your skills?
Account Executive
I was contacted by an external recruiter. Then I had a call with an internal recruiter at Instawork. After that, I spoke with the sales director, then a sales manager. The next step would have been a sales pitch. The interviews were as expected, except one interviewer kept closing their eyes while I spoke. Virtual interviews are tough, but someone closing their eyes and making faces was confusing. I'm not sure if it was intentional to throw me off or just unprofessional. It was an okay experience. Instawork looks like a great platform, but it didn't seem like the interviewers were trying to get to know me, or if they were just going through the motions.
- Can you describe your sales process?
