They made us come in person for a 5-6 hour unpaid case study, which I thought was not okay. It also took forever to get results, even though they said we'd hear back by Friday. The rejection email was super generic and felt disrespectful given all the work we put in. It would've been nice to get some feedback, like others mentioned. The case study itself was hard because their current social media doesn't explain the product well, making it tough for an associate-level person to write accurate copy. They really shouldn't make people come in for this, or at least they should pay us for the time, especially since my interview ran way over.

The interview process at Instalily was genuinely one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I’ve had. It pushed me to think creatively and technically, like solving a real business problem from scratch. Every step tested not just my skills but also my ability to adapt and build something meaningful. It was an intense challenge, but I absolutely loved it. The team was supportive, communicative, and gave me the freedom to explore my ideas. Whether or not you get the role, you walk away learning a lot.

I really liked how fast they got back to me. It began with a 15-min chat with an engineer, which was surprisingly genuine and fun. They asked typical behavioral questions and some general coding questions to see my thinking. The next morning, I got invited to do a case study, which I had 48 hours to complete. It was tough but really enjoyable and doable if you focus. The morning after I submitted it, I was invited for an onsite interview. The onsite involved building an agentic system, including a frontend and backend for a specific task, much like the case study. To finish, I presented my work to some engineers and had to explain my design and implementation choices. I got the offer the very next morning.

The hiring process was super quick! I sent in my resume and got an invite for a first screening call in just a couple of days. After a short Google Meet with the Chief of Staff, I was asked to come in for an on-site interview. The on-site took about half a day. They gave me four hours to work on a case study in one of their conference rooms and then I presented my findings to the team right after. It was cool to see the team working together; they were all really friendly, answered my questions, and checked on me while I was working on the case. The presentation part was really in-depth and challenging. The team dug deep into my thought process and why I made certain choices. They also had me evaluate my own case study work and then asked some behavioral questions, including what I thought about some relevant topics. The Chief of Staff asked for my references right after the interview, and I got an offer a few days later. The whole thing felt really open and smooth. I always knew what was coming next, which was great.
