The interview process is definitely long and challenging, but it feels worthwhile to ensure a great fit for both you and the company. Everyone is super friendly and humble, and also incredibly smart, so be ready. My experience went like this: a 30-minute initial phone call, then a PowerPoint/critical thinking assessment, followed by a longer 1-hour phone interview. After that, they flew me in for an in-person interview where I spoke with 7 different people, from analysts up to the CEO, in one-hour blocks. The office project coordinator was my main contact and super helpful, though I wish I'd been more mindful of her time. Good luck!

The hiring process took a while because they were trying to figure out if I should be a Senior Associate or a Consultant. There were 4 phone interviews and then a final in-person interview. The group part went pretty well, and I met some good people. Unfortunately, a few comments during the final in-person interview weren't great. One Senior Consultant basically said their team could hire more associates for the same money but wanted people who were passionate and would work extremely hard. I'd say that's a tough sell for expecting really long nights. Another Senior Associate was being overly aggressive with his questions, to the point where a colleague commented on how tough he was being. Honestly, even for consulting, it felt like someone was just trying to show off. On the flip side, the VP was really focused on individual growth, which was a clear positive. I like their general approach for new associates, but they should remember the interview is also a chance to sell their company culture.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process kicked off with a 30-minute phone chat. It was pretty laid-back, and I did most of the talking, covering my background and some fit questions. After that, I had to put together a 5-slide presentation about a potential client. The next step was a one-hour phone interview. The first half was dedicated to fit questions, and the second half was a case study. The interviewer seemed a bit distant and didn't offer much detail when I asked questions at the end.

Behavioral Case

I had an initial phone screen, which was all fit and no case. The interviewer was fantastic - he clearly knows how to interview people and have a conversational interview. He was very knowledgeable about the company and the pharma industry, and he was a pleasure to speak with. It's tough to come by such great consulting interviews. ISA seems like a nice place to work based off of my 1 conversation with this dude.
