& Process

The interview was pretty chill and they made me feel comfortable. They showed me the software they use for reporting traffic incidents and mentioned I could do the job even without being able to drive. They ended up offering me the position and I accepted.

Had a 45 min phone screen with an engineering VP. Then waited two weeks with no word. After that, another 45 min phone screen with an engineer. About a week later, I had a two hour video call with two more engineers. Then a week after that, a final one hour video interview with another engineer. In total, I had 5 separate one-hour sessions with engineers. The interviews themselves were not hard, the people were nice and easy to chat with. But the HR communication was terrible. I was never told what the interview process would be or how long it would take. They also never followed up after my last interview. Very unprofessional!

I went through two initial interview rounds, followed by a 5-hour Zoom interview block. I withdrew from the process due to concerns about the salary and relocation package. It seemed like they lowballed the salary range, citing 'market calculations' and being a 'small firm', and offered a relocation allowance of 'up to' $3000. They are transitioning to a hybrid office and prefer local candidates but are unwilling to offer a salary competitive for the Seattle area or cover moving costs. HR followed up after I withdrew. Their process and package feel outdated.

I applied online and was contacted about a week later to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that call, we set up a time for me to visit the office and meet some team members. The interview lasted two hours. The first 30 minutes were spent meeting another TOC analyst. Then, I met with two TOC analyst supervisors for another 30 minutes. Following that, I had a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager, and the process concluded with a chat with the HR recruiter. The supervisors didn't seem very engaged with INRIX, their roles, or me. I felt I made a good impression on the others, but it was difficult to gauge my standing with those two. They appeared unprepared, not having many questions or having reviewed my resume. I was told I'd hear back in about a week, but it's been over a month with no response. Interestingly, I did get a survey a week after the interview. Different recruiters were involved at each stage: recruiter 1 handled the initial phone interview setup, recruiter 2 arranged the main interview and was also present during the in-person meeting, and recruiter 3 sent the survey. The whole experience felt disorganized, and the lack of enthusiasm from the team about the product was noticeable; they seemed content with having a decent-paying job.
