A project manager reached out on LinkedIn about a business analyst role at Inovalon, and I accepted. Soon after, I had a phone interview with the manager, which I felt didn't go well. At the end of that call, the manager asked me to prepare two presentations for the upcoming on-site interview: one about medical claim processing and another on process modeling. During the on-site, I struggled with some SQL query questions. Although I didn't get the job, I was really impressed by how friendly everyone at Inovalon was.

Applied through a friend for a few roles, but only heard back from a recruiter briefly before they ghosted me. A month later, another recruiter reached out for a Sr. Business Analyst job. Had a call with them, then the hiring manager. He asked about my background, GPA, performance in specific courses, and my skills in SQL and Excel. He also made me rate myself on a leadership scale that felt a bit odd. Then he asked if I'd take a regular Business Analyst role instead of the senior one. I didn't respond, but the recruiter scheduled a final in-person interview for the next week. While en route, the recruiter called to reschedule because the hiring manager was unexpectedly out of town. The interview happened the following week at their corporate office, involving 4 people (2 in person, 2 via call). The whole process felt pretty average, and honestly, not too challenging for someone with prior work experience. I got an offer that same week and was expected to start in two weeks.

I had 2 phone rounds and then one onsite interview. The phone rounds included an initial HR screening where they checked basic communication skills, asked about my willingness to relocate, my preference for working from home, and my current/expected compensation. The second phone round was with the manager, who asked about the types of projects and tools I've worked on, and my strengths and weaknesses. The onsite interview was pretty standard, asking why I was interested in Inovalon, why healthcare, and why this specific job.
