Human Resources
Applied through LinkedIn because I knew about their products since a family member used them. Their mission and location were a good fit so I applied. Got an email for a first interview with a recruiter. Did more research and prepping beforehand. The conversation went well and the recruiter said she'd reach out in a few days about next steps, by the end of the week at the latest. Over a week passed, so I followed up for an update and transparency. No response. Reached out again a few days later in case the recruiter missed the email, and again, no response. Left a bad impression because they said they'd do something and didn't, and ghosted me. Especially for a company I admired. It's unfortunate when people ruin the experience.

Sales Specialist
I first met some of the company's sales reps at a job fair. I talked about my inside sales background with one of them and gave her my resume. They seemed like great people and it looked like a really good job opportunity. The company then emailed me, inviting me to complete a virtual interview where I recorded my answers to questions on webcam. These were mostly about cultural fit and situational questions. I got my recorded interview submitted before the deadline. Then, they invited me for a final in-person interview with one of two hiring managers. This last interview started off weirdly. The manager who interviewed me seemed annoyed from the start, saying the other manager was supposed to do it but was busy. He made me email him my resume right at the beginning, and then he just picked it apart. He asked about my location and commute, and really pressed on traffic, even though I've never had issues with it. I explained a gap in my work history relating to when I went back to school, and he asked if there was another gap, which there wasn't. He only let me ask two questions. When I asked why they were hiring, he talked about transforming the business and scaling the company, and that hiring the 'right people' starts with training and retention. He said 'the right people' while glaring at me. We didn't discuss my experience or sales skills at all. The interview ended early, with about 8 minutes left on the clock, and it wasn't even a full 30 minutes. It was really strange that they would reject me after such a short conversation, especially since my resume met all the job requirements we discussed at the job fair. It felt like a complete waste of my time. He said I'd hear back by the end of the next business day, but I never did, even after sending a thank you email.

Technical Service Advocate
I applied on Indeed and got a call about 5 days later to come in for an interview the next day. I had to ask my current employer for time off to make it. It was a panel interview with 3 other candidates and two hiring managers. I noticed that only myself and one other candidate had health industry experience; the others didn't seem to have much customer service experience or the required qualifications. There was another panel interview later that afternoon, so I figured I had to beat out at least 6 other candidates because I guessed they only had two openings. I dressed my best. One of the other candidates came off as rude during the 1-hour interview and openly stated he only got the interview because his mom referred him from a different department. After we all answered a series of questions like we were on a game show, the interview ended. Later that afternoon, one of the hiring managers called me to ask about my desired salary. I asked what they were offering, and she asked what I was currently making, which I found to be an illegal question. After I told her my minimum, I mentioned I was open to negotiation. She said she would check with HR and get back to me on Friday. They mentioned we would hear back by Monday at the latest. I waited patiently on Friday, but no call. Thinking they might still be deciding or were just busy, I didn't call until Monday. I made several calls with no response. I left a voicemail, but still nothing. By 5:30 PM, I assumed I not only didn't get the job but had lost it either to nepotism or salary negotiation. They're probably only offering around 30k. Anyway, I'll never know because they didn't have the common courtesy to even tell me they selected someone else, either by phone or email.

Patient Order Quality Advocate
I applied and a few days later, management called me to go over my resume and ask about my experience. At the end of that call, she asked if I could come in for a second interview, and I said yes. Later that same day, I got an email for an in-person interview with two managers. I met with the supervisor and a co-worker from the department, and we had a basic interview where they reviewed my experience and asked behavioral questions, and they also explained the job. By the time the interview was over, they offered me the position.
