After applying, I first completed an editing and writing assessment. Then I had an interview over Zoom, but the interviewer was really rude and seemed rushed and uninterested. She even rolled her eyes while I was talking! It was so unprofessional. She kept jumping around with her questions and didn't let me finish my answers. Even though I'm overqualified and currently have the exact same job, I was rejected. Honestly, I'm glad because I wouldn't want to report to that interviewer.

I got this message on Linkedin for a Foreign Language Specialist role, they said they needed 100 people and it sounded really good given my language skills. I emailed the Innodata recruiters, they were quick to respond and sent me a 90 min English test, needed back in 24h. This was weird because it was for a foreign language job, and later I found out I'd have to do 2 tests in 2 languages for not great pay. 90 mins per test for a job you might not get and for average pay felt like a lot. I suspect they might be gathering data for AI and then just rejecting people. Anyway, I took time off to do the English test. It was structured okay, but a lot of questions were really unclear, especially the two mini-essays. The instructions were often conflicting, maybe to test logic? Days later, I was told I failed the English test and was out, even though it was for a foreign language role. It felt unfair to be rejected without being tested on the actual language needed. I'm a quick learner and would have picked up their processes easily. They didn't seem to be testing technical skills. The communication was good and responsive from Innodata, but they gave no feedback on my test mistakes. Honestly, I felt a bit scammed because of the Linkedin message, my qualifications, the 100 openings, the lack of technical difficulty, not testing the main language, and the average pay.

The interview wasn't super technical, but it made us think about the company's model vision. The benefits are decent, and the best part is you can work from home as long as you want if you're in a senior position.
