Case

I spoke with a recruiter for about 15 minutes and then I was asked to do a case study, which was creating a custom marketing strategy. It took me a lot of hours to finish the case study. After I sent it in, I got a generic rejection email. They didn't give me any feedback or respond when I asked for some. It felt like a waste of my skills, honestly.

Case Behavioral

Had a brief initial screen, then was given a case study where I had to make two videos responding to their content. The negative part was they wouldn't give a straight answer on the actual pay range, and the pay range on the ad had a huge ($100,000k+) difference. Before I did the case study, I asked for the actual range, got the run around, and finally was told you only find out after the whole process. Why waste everyone's time with shady nonsense like this? This is a sign of very low regard for people’s time, effort, and expertise. I withdrew my application.

Behavioral Presentation

The process was pretty chill but moved fast! I started with a 30-minute Skype call with HR, mostly asking about my background and why I was interested in Inkitt. I also got a good sense of the company and team dynamics, which was super helpful. Next up, I had about an hour-long chat with Marvin Wey, the head of growth, whose team I'd be joining. Both these chats were professional but felt friendly. After that, I did two test-working days to see if we were a good match. I also met with the CEO, Ali, for coffee on the first test day, which gave me a clearer picture of future opportunities at Inkitt. I saw firsthand how passionate and hardworking the team is, and luckily, we all agreed it was a good fit! I started my official first day about a week after the initial interview.
