First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ingredion.
Senior Manager
It was a long interview process with many rounds, both video and in-person onsite. I talked to 7 people. Then the recruiter and hiring manager ghosted me for 2 months. After that silence, they got in touch to see if I was still interested in the job offer, but I had already accepted another position by then.

Manager
So I went through a few rounds of interviews for a Manager role. The first one felt more like they were just grilling me, I barely got any time to ask my questions at the end. I didn't even get a good sense of the job afterwards. Then there was this 'personality test' they said would be 45 minutes, but it turned out to be over 600 questions and took almost 2 hours! The HR person admitted they knew it wasn't a 45-minute test. They promised a debrief on the results, but that never happened. After that, I had interviews with some key people. One of them got offended when I asked a standard question about how our business units would collaborate. Later, I had to do a case study with 4 strategy questions, with only a few days to prepare. As an outsider with no industry data, I asked for a clarification on a term, and the HR person just told me to 'Google it'. The recruiter then said the content didn't matter, just focus on presentation skills. I worked really hard on it, but during the presentation, they cut me off because they had another meeting and didn't even let me get through half my slides. They didn't even say thank you for the case study. The recruiter's feedback was that my presentation 'was not good enough' due to 'not enough data', even though I was the final candidate out of over 200 screened. It was really hard to meet their expectations because they were so unwilling to provide clarity. Honestly, it was the most dehumanizing interview process I've been through in 20 years. I tried giving feedback to the recruiter and hiring manager, but they weren't receptive.
- The questions posed were demanding yet manageable.
- The case study was extremely difficult due to unclear expectations.
- How would our two business units collaborate?
Management Trainee
So we had this assessment centre where we were given a case study to study for 3 hours. After that, we had to present it in front of the panel. We were split into two groups, with 5 people in each. We were assigned roles to help us solve the case study.
- Are you open to relocating from your hometown?
