Customer Service Representative
The interview itself was good, but what happened after was not. It lasted 30 minutes and I spoke with the customer service department manager, who was very friendly. She asked behavioral and 'what would you do' type questions. They followed up about 3 days later and offered me the job, which I accepted. After that, I had to do a background check and a drug screen. The first drug screen came back as negative dilute, so they made me retake it, and the second one was negative. My background check came back and looked good. Then, they called asking for a manager reference, which they hadn't requested before (they only asked for coworker references previously). The whole thing took a month and since I didn't have a manager reference, they rescinded the offer. Beware working for this company, it's not worth the hassle.
- Can you share an instance where you had to overcome an obstacle?
Customer Support Representative
I had three interviews. The first one was with two nice people and it was a good chat, lasted about an hour. Talent acquisition thought I was a better fit for sales, so they set up a second interview. The second interview was with two sales directors who started by saying they didn't have openings, then asked me 'Why you?' four times in 15 minutes. I answered each time with different strengths. This interview really changed my mind about the company. They called me for a third interview, but I decided to withdraw my application because of the lack of professionalism and disrespect for my time. I was really sure about this company after the first interview, but the second one left me disappointed. Talent acquisition was a good advocate, but I'd recommend confirming you're interviewing with people you'd report to.
- In your own words, what is customer service?
- Can you share an instance of handling a difficult coworker?
- If a previous colleague were to describe you, what three words would they use?
Customer Support Representative
Since the interview happened during COVID, it started with a phone call with the HR recruiter. If I got through that, I then met with three different managers over Teams. It took about a week and a half to two weeks to get a final decision on whether I was hired.
- Can you provide examples of times you succeeded?
- Can you provide examples of times you failed?
