The interview process started with a 4-hour tech challenge on Hackerrank where I had to debug and test a .NET API. After that, there was a 1-hour system design interview using a whiteboard, along with discussions about various technologies and architectural design patterns. The final interview was with the hiring managers and lasted for an hour. It had many questions that overlapped with the previous round and also included behavioral questions. They decided not to move forward with my application because I lacked React experience, even though the role was advertised as a backend .NET developer and I didn't list React experience on my resume, yet they let me reach the final stage.

So after the initial phone screening, they had me come into the office for a written test. It was about 30 minutes with 15-20 open-ended questions covering OOP, C#, Asp.Net, Git, SQL, and JavaScript. They were meant to be pretty tough, not expecting all answers, just to see where my strengths and weaknesses lie. On the same day, I got a call saying the dev manager liked my test and wanted me to move on to meet with HR. However, the HR manager was busy, so I ended up having a technical interview with a dev manager and a senior dev instead. They were really nice, made me feel comfortable, and apologized for the change. We chatted about my experience, and then they asked me to draw out a project I'd done on a whiteboard. The whole thing lasted about 45 minutes, and I felt like I learned a lot from the process. The next day, they let me know they decided to go with other candidates.

I had a 30 min intro call with a recruiter, then a 30 min zoom with the technical manager. After that, there was a 1 hour technical React interview over zoom, followed by a 1 hour in-person behavioral interview. Finally, I had an async take-home assignment that involved both React and C#. They extended a mid-level offer. Initially, they didn't give me a deadline to accept or decline, but the next day the recruiter pushed for an answer by the end of the day, which felt like a pressure tactic to accept their lowball offer. Since I had a better offer elsewhere, I declined. It felt scammy after investing about 15 hours over a month in their interview process.
