I initially applied on the company's website. A recruiter called a few days later to set up a phone interview for the next day. The Regional Sales Manager called a day late from his car for a 25-minute chat and then set up another call for the next day via the recruiter. The RSM didn't call at the scheduled time and emailed 45 minutes later to reschedule for a time I was busy. I offered other times but got no reply. After four days and several emails to the recruiter and RSM, I called the recruiter, who then scheduled the second phone interview. At the end of that call, the RSM invited me to a 1:1 in Nashville, which is a 3-hour drive, and this was arranged through the recruiter. I drove to Nashville the night before the 1:1, only to get an email after I arrived saying they weren't moving forward. No mention of compensation for travel or lodging.

This interview process was exhausting! I live in SF and they required me to drive to the SJ office every day of the week to meet and interview with someone new. They claim it's a virtual office, but I suspect they want to assess if you're willing to make the daily 5-day drive to the SJ office. Following that, they administer an IT and a personality test. It seemed odd to have an IT test for an experienced sales executive. The VP I met with wasn't impressive; he'd been there for 20 years. Initially, he stated he wanted a specific skill set, but after I demonstrated I possessed it, he changed his mind and desired something else. This company truly wastes your time! They've had this same SJ position for an Acct. Exec. advertised for 1.5 years. Given the current job market with high demand and low supply, why can't IBI find a qualified Account Executive?

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The VP is looking for a candidate who can engage with 'C' level executives.

First, I was contacted by an IBI recruiter and had a quick 15-minute chat. Then, I spoke with the hiring manager for about 45 minutes, where we discussed my background and successes in the industry. After that, I had a face-to-face meeting with the hiring manager for about 1.5 hours, followed by an hour with the VP of sales. Finally, I spent 3 hours in an interview session with Senior Executives. It was a really positive and thorough process.
