First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Informatica.
Technical Support Engineer
First, there was a call with an external recruiter to check my experience and skills. Then, I had a call with the team lead to discuss these items plus some hypothetical questions. I didn't get the role, but the next step would have been a technical interview, likely involving scenarios for problem-solving on the DB or Java side, followed by a final panel interview. The team lead call resulted in a 'no-offer' because my past experience lacked on-premise or Java systems, with too much startup work. This feedback could have been given by the recruiter during the initial screening call to save time. The recruiter also made the interview awkward, calling it 'the most awkward interview I have ever had' while trying to be candid about skill match and asking more questions. They then tried to fit me for a different role, which wasn't what I wanted and could have been discussed separately. Overall, it was an awkward and strange experience, and I doubt I would interview here again.
- Could you tell me what tech stack your platform was based on?
Technical Support Engineer
I went through 5 interview rounds for this role, each lasting about 1-1.5 hours. I invested a lot of time and effort. After shortlisting and submitting my documents, it's been two months with no word. No HR discussion or offer letter. The recruiter was unresponsive by email and phone for a month. When I finally reached her, she just said she'd keep me posted, and I haven't heard anything since. It's disappointing from a reputable company. They should at least provide closure. It's frustrating to be left hanging. The recruiter initially said all rounds would be on the same day with a potential offer by EOD if selected, but the interviews actually took two weeks. I regret wasting my time!
- Can you explain the fundamentals of the IICS tool?
- Are you able to handle scenario-based questions?
- Do you have experience with puzzles?
Technical Support Engineer
There were a total of 8 interview rounds, with 7 being face-to-face and 1 over the phone. The first round focused on basic language skills like JAVA or C++. The second round was managerial. Then, they assessed code debugging skills. A major round involved many technical questions about JAVA and ORACLE concepts. Another round covered tool usage and database knowledge. A puzzle round was unexpected, with 10 puzzles, and also included a Java program and basic Unix commands. Finally, there was an HR round with easy, expected questions, and an additional managerial round conducted over the telephone.
- The puzzles asked were unexpected and can't be solved just by practice, requiring good puzzle-solving skills. Get some idea on the tools used globally.
