Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Informatica.
Developer
The interviewers were very polite and punctual. They asked questions mostly about how I handle problems and also to assess my knowledge level in the required skills. The interview didn't take long and helped me improve in some areas.
- How do you solve a very difficult problem?
Performance Engineer
It was a 5 stage process. First, there were 3 technical rounds. Then, a round with a senior manager or director. Finally, an HR round. The technical rounds were a bit tricky, they presented us with some situations and asked for our approach, testing our knowledge of advanced performance Engineering concepts.
- Can you explain basic performance Engineering concepts?
- Do you have knowledge of Linux-based questions?
- Are you familiar with Oops concepts?
Service Engineer
Beware, Informatica in the UK posts jobs without approved headcount. You might be wasting your time because there's no real job. I went through 3 interviews (2 phone calls, 1 face-to-face with a presentation). Then, they said they were preparing an offer and advised me to stop looking elsewhere. Three weeks later, I got a generic email stating the headcount wasn't approved. That's something they should check before talking to candidates. They were complete time-wasters.
- What is the necessity for companies to invest in data cataloging?
