So I have 8 years of experience in tech sales and was told I was interviewing for an Inside Sales position. The first person I spoke with, who was going to be my manager and had only been at the company for 2 weeks, immediately told me the role was actually to set appointments for sales reps. He seemed out of his depth and only spent about 15 minutes with me before leaving for a flight. Then, two other people finished the interview. One had been there 2 weeks, the other only 4 days, and they had no idea what they were doing - one sold storage containers and the other sold beer. After a pointless test that doesn't show selling ability, I was interviewed by a group of the least qualified people possible. They rejected me, initially claiming I wouldn't grasp Infoblox's technology due to my lack of tech background, which was absurd given network management and security is simple. When I reacted to that, they switched to saying I wouldn't be a good cultural fit, which is funny coming from people who've been there less than 3 weeks. The recruiter, who had been there for years, was quitting because of the company's changes. Glad I didn't get an offer, wouldn't want to work for that ridiculous company.

  • Doesn't matter, the interview was a total joke. More time was spent patting themselves on the back than asking me any questions.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online one morning, and within an hour, I got a call from the recruiter. We talked for about 30 minutes, and she said she'd like to move to the next steps and schedule a call with the hiring manager. That call was set up for a few days later. The call with the hiring manager lasted well over an hour and felt like a good interview. The manager said he wants to set up face-to-face interviews. I waited a day or so and then received an email rejection. Guess he didn't mean a face-to-face with me. I contacted the recruiter both via email and voicemail to get feedback, but still, no response. Not a very professional process at all.
