Commercial Sales Representative
I applied through Indeed for the Commercial Sales Representative role at Infinite Energy. First, I had a short phone call, pretty standard stuff. Two weeks later, they invited me for an in-person interview. This is where things got weird. They asked typical questions like 'Why do you want to work here?' and 'What do you know about the company?', but then some of the interviewers actually laughed at my answers. They said they want a 'relaxed' environment, but laughing at a candidate felt really unprofessional and hinted at a bad company vibe. After that, I was given a sales email writing task with unclear instructions. I did my best with the limited info. Two weeks after that, I got an email saying they picked someone else. Honestly, I wasn't even going to accept if they offered, because the whole experience was so unprofessional, it was a clear sign to avoid this company.
- What's something you're really passionate about?
- What is it that you know about our company?
- Tell me about your sales experience - how much experience do you have and how would you approach making a sale in a specific situation?
Inside Sales Representative
First I sent in an online application. Then I had a phone interview with HR, which was pretty easy. She mostly just explained that the job is all about cold-calling. After that, there was an in-person interview with the sales manager and trainer. They were nice, but they're going to be tough. This job really isn't for people who are scared of hearing 'no'. I'd definitely mention that in the interview and give examples. Even if you don't plan to stay for more than three months, you need to show enthusiasm!
- Tell me about yourself and whether you like talking on the phone.
- Be prepared to sell us something.
- Given a blank piece of paper and a pen in an empty office, be prepared to make a sales call.
Business Analyst
Found this job through a college adviser. Applied, and was asked to come in and take a 2 hour Excel based exam. After waiting over 3 weeks to finally hear from them, I was asked to come in for an interview. Interview was a panel of 3 people, lasted about an hour, everything went smoothly as possible. Was asked a couple programming questions that i answered perfectly. Was told that I would get a CALL no matter what.. 2 weeks pass, nothing. 3 weeks pass, still nothing. 4 weeks pass, STILL NOTHING. I had to call, email, and almost beg them to give me a response. Needless to say, i was EMAILED by a recruiter the most BS GENERIC email saying thanks but no thanks.
- Doesnt matter. Dont interview with them if youre looking for an organized competent company on top of their stuff.
Software Engineer
Got the interview invite 2 days after applying. It was onsite cause the company is close to my place. Had 3 interviewers. They started by asking about my resume. Then, I had to design a simple database for a food shop. Lastly, they asked me to do a black box test, which was new to me.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- How would you design a basic database for a food shop?
- What is your approach to a black box test scenario?
