Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Infineon Technologies.
Software Engineer
Infineon came to my college for an on-campus drive. They first had a hackathon as a way to shortlist candidates. From the initial 100 students, they selected 45 for the interview round. After the interviews, they hired 15 students for a 1-year internship.
- Can you elaborate on the skills and projects listed on your resume?
Software Engineer
There were two rounds to the interview process. First, a phone screening where they asked about school, hobbies, and interests, but no technical questions. Then, an in-person interview which involved multiple back-to-back one-on-one meetings with different team leads. Each lead had their own questions, though some were similar. Roughly half the questions were technical coding problems, like data structures, and the other half were about past experience.
- Can you tell me about a project you've worked on before?
- What were some of the challenges you faced while working on that project?
- What was the most significant learning or takeaway from that project?
Software Engineer
The interview process was nice. The interviewers knew a lot about different technologies. It was split into 3 stages. First, they asked me to introduce myself and then they told me about their tech and project. Next, they looked at my CV and asked me questions about it, plus my hobbies. Lastly, it was a technical round where they asked about DBMS basics, computer architecture, and a scenario-based query. They picked 2 people, but my colleague got chosen.
- Can you introduce yourself, talk about your current projects, and any you've completed?
- Could you answer some questions about your CV and the projects listed on it?
- Given an employee table with over 100 million records, how would you write a SQL query to retrieve only the most recent login for a user?
