Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Infineon Technologies.
Intern
The interview involved questions about pointers, project-based scenarios, fundamental C programming concepts, and discussions around my resume and experience with Python and other programming languages. There were also queries on constants, integers, compiler knowledge, and some hardware-related topics including Verilog and digital logic design.
- Could you define what macros are?
- Can you explain the Verilog code for a barrel shifter?
Intern
It was nice. The interviewer was very friendly, she started by introducing herself and her professional background to make me feel more comfortable. The interview (online) lasted almost 1 hour, and I had to speak in English for about 15 minutes. She explained everything about how the company works, from the environment, dress code (informal/casual), salary, working hours, etc., so I would know if I wanted to continue, as there would be a 2nd interview phase (a more practical interview with an exercise) if I passed the 1st phase.
- Tell me about yourself and your background that led you here.
- How did you become aware of the internship opening?
- What motivated your interest in this internship?
Intern
Application submitted on 14/3. About a month later, the hiring manager reached out to schedule an interview. A week after that, I interviewed with the hiring manager and a colleague. The next day, the hiring manager gave a verbal offer, and HR requested documents for what I assume is for admin and background check purposes. A week later, I got the offer letter via email. Another week later, I was assigned MyHR tasks, which included signing the contract, learning about company rules, and watching videos about Infineon. The interview itself was a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager and a colleague. They were nice and explained the department and role well. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview. I think 3 or 4 HR people handled my application, but they could be quicker with updates before I got access to MyHR. MyHR is Infineon's HR platform, which is user-friendly and clearly shows the next steps. It helped me understand Infineon better.
- Can you tell me about your projects and how they show your job skills?
