Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Infineon Technologies.
Applications Engineer
I applied through my university. There were 3 rounds in total. The first round was a screening test with technical and aptitude questions. If shortlisted, the second round was a technical interview. We were assigned to different panels based on our roles. The questions were easy, but I didn't pass. The third round was an HR interview.
- Questions on digital electronics basics
- Questions about C programming
- Questions on bit manipulation
Field Applications Engineer
This was a 4-round interview process, consisting of behavioral interviews with different members of the office team. They asked a lot about my experiences through project teams, classes, and past internships. They didn't question too much in technical depth but wanted to know more about experiences problem-solving, teamwork, and overcoming obstacles. Very nice interviewers and team!
- What do you like about living and working in Michigan?
- Describe a situation where a team member wasn't meeting expectations and outline your approach to address it.
Applications Engineer
I applied for the Applications Engineer position via a referral. The HR person failed to mention the interview details. When I followed up, she informed me that the interview was scheduled for the next day. I requested more time to prepare and reschedule my current work commitments, but she stated it was a drive and couldn't be rescheduled. I found this HR behavior unprofessional, as drives are typically planned in advance and should be communicated at least two days prior.
- Can you explain the compilation process of code?
- Could you tell me about storage classes?
- What are the wired protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART?
