Project Manager
HR reached out for an interview, asking about my background and motivations for joining the company. This felt like a screening. The next interview was with a potential colleague, who was condescending and rude, making me feel like my time was wasted. I emailed the HR person afterwards to thank them and express continued interest, but received no response, which isn't a great look for the company.
- Can you describe your project management experience?
- Why are you interested in this project management role despite not being in the environmental field?
Project Manager
I applied online and got an automated confirmation. They got back to me in 3 days with an interview offer. I had 3 video interviews with people from Berlin and 1 in-person with the director in NYC. Scheduling was super easy using their online form for availability. They responded within 1-3 days after each interview, letting me know I was moving forward. I got the job offer just one day after my last interview. The whole process from application to offer took about 8 weeks, maybe a bit longer because it was around the holidays. The interviewers asked good questions that fit the role, some were challenging but fair. They also seemed keen to know me personally, asking about hobbies and work style, which I appreciated to ensure it was a good fit. My only suggestion is to provide more upfront info on U.S. benefits, as getting details from the Berlin-based company was a bit tricky, though I'm sure that's just a minor issue they'll fix soon.
- Tell me about a project you managed that failed. What did you learn from it, and how did you adjust your approach for future projects?
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of work?
- Can you describe your typical work style?
Project Manager
The whole process was really fast and smooth, wrapping up in just a week. I had three interviews with different people, and they were all pretty friendly, making me feel like they really wanted to hire me. One interviewer was a bit too direct with some questions that felt a little patronizing, but overall, it was a good experience.
