I submitted my resume on LinkedIn for an IT Project Manager position but got no response. However, I did get several invitations from managers on LinkedIn to connect. Eventually, I had multiple email exchanges with a hiring manager, followed by a one-hour video chat. I also had an unexpected phone call with an apprentice. After following up with both the manager and the apprentice, I was informed that my application was rejected, with no explanation provided even after I asked. Since the manager brought up how knowing the reason for rejection is beneficial and even inquired about my general application outcomes, I found this experience to be negative, unproductive, and a waste of time.
