It was a long, full-day interview with a tough technical exercise. Having strong Excel and data manipulation skills seemed to be the most critical factor for selection. The interviewers were friendly, and overall it was a good experience, though spending the entire day interviewing non-stop was challenging.

About three weeks after applying, I had a phone screen with a senior associate who talked about the job and asked about my background. Three weeks later, I went to the office for an in-person interview. This included three one-on-one interviews, an Excel problem-solving task, a presentation about my research, and lunch with other associates. The presentation was pretty standard. The problem-solving part involved doing exploratory data analysis on energy and temperature data from Boston and Miami. I got feedback later, and they said I didn't clearly show interest in the role and didn't prove enough critical thinking during the problem-solving session, which is why I didn't get an offer.

The interview process included a personality interview where they asked about my academic work and previous internship experience. There was also a skills test that involved a dataset and a problem related to cost-benefit analysis, which required knowledge of environmental economics. I also had a lunch interview with another associate, which was relaxed but still part of the evaluation!
