3 interviews were conducted, where I met with management, HR, and my direct boss. The management is entirely Chinese, and the company operates strictly according to a Chinese structure and leadership. Although the interviews went well, one must be prepared to adapt significantly to the Chinese way of working, which might make it less enjoyable.

I applied online for the Fujian Province Branch and heard back about the interview just 3 days before it. They do things a bit differently here, with interviews happening before the written test. The interview has two main parts: a group interview and then an individual one. For the group part, 10 of us were put in a group and given a topic totally unrelated to banking. We had 5-10 minutes to read it, then took turns sharing our opinions for one minute each. After that, we had 20 minutes to discuss it as a group and pick someone to present our conclusion. Two examiners watched this whole thing. Afterward, we waited to be called back in. The examiners asked for our feedback on the group discussion, what we did well and not so well. Then, we had to introduce ourselves without using our names, and they'd ask follow-up questions based on what we said. That was the first part. The second part was the individual interview where two bank employees looked at our CVs and chatted with us about our studies, experiences, and why we want to work at ICBC, Fujian.

The interview process was simple, straightforward, and direct. The interviewers were both okay, and could speak English and Mandarin.
