Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Inditex.
Sales Associate
It was an online group interview with about 10-15 other people. Each person had about 5 minutes to talk. They asked everyone for a brief personal description, to show their favorite clothing item and explain why, and what they would do if they had to handle a difficult customer. They stressed the importance of appearing confident, having sales ability, smiling, and maintaining a positive attitude. Showing interest in fashion is a plus, and prior sales or customer-facing experience is very valuable. Taking care of your appearance and looking confident are key.
- Show us your favorite piece of clothing and tell us why you like it.
Sales Associate
First, there was a phone call to check availability. Then, a group interview where we had some presentation dynamics (talking about ourselves, our experiences, and education, and which store we'd like to work in) and company culture games (like defining words that represent Inditex for us).
- What's your availability?
- What previous experience do you have, retail or otherwise?
- What do you like about fashion?
Sales Associate
First, there's an online self-assessment where you answer questions (best done on a laptop). Then, there's a mass introduction round in one of their stores. The store isn't necessarily where you'll end up working; it's random. After that, there's an open Q&A session. You'll only be hired if you have prior work experience. It's all quite brief.
- Have you worked before, and if so, where and for how long?
- How do you handle stress?
- How would you react if a colleague makes a mistake?
