They were fine. I interviewed for a seasonal position and they were professional throughout. I spoke to someone in-store who encouraged me to apply online, and I was interviewed by phone.

Even though I didn't get the job, the interview was pretty good. It started with a group interview where we filled out a form about our weekly availability. Based on that, half the people left because their hours didn't match what Indigo needed. Then, we all sat in a circle and the managers asked questions like 'Who, dead or alive, would you want to talk to and why?' and 'If you were an animal, what kind would you be?'. We also talked about rewards programs we're in and how to improve Indigo's. There were some fun ice-breakers too. Later, we paired up, chatted for 2 minutes about ourselves, then had 5 minutes to pick a store item as a gift for our partner and explain our choice. They also asked what we'd gift if our first choice wasn't available. It was pretty chill, but definitely about standing out. We didn't have to answer everything, but I think answering more helped.

Indigo has an online survey when you apply to weed out people who can't handle pressure selling. It seems like they want people they can easily shape to their way of selling. If you pass that, you get called for a big group interview with role-playing. The managers running it seem to enjoy making candidates do silly games, which is a bit demeaning for a minimum wage job.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Are you able to adapt to using pressure sales?
