Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Independence Blue Cross.
Research Analyst
The interview process was clear and quick and overall a great experience. Interviews were very relaxed and conversational, they were more focused on cultural fit. Process took about 3 weeks. HR screening interview, follow by an interview with hiring manager and last interview was with two other analysts. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. Very positive experience.
- Could you explain data in a way that a non-technical person would understand?
- What attracts you to IBX?
- What motivated your application for this specific role?
Research Analyst
I interviewed for the Senior Research Analyst job. IBX skipped the initial phone screen. I had one in-person interview with HR, the hiring manager, the VP of informatics, and a team lead. They felt my current role could potentially fit what they were looking for, though it wasn't an exact match. I followed up about six times post-interview, and they mentioned they'd update me once a decision was made as they were still interviewing candidates. Neither HR nor the hiring manager followed up.
- Can you explain your current role and how it aligns with the position we're hiring for?
- Tell me about your programming skills and whether you currently write code.
- What feedback would your current supervisor provide regarding your work ethic?
Research Analyst
The process was quick and efficient. It started with an HR screening, then moved to several rounds of interviews. They asked standard interview questions along with some specific to research and its application. I felt comfortable during the interviews because the interviewers were friendly and calm.
- What made you want to apply to IBX?
