Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Indeed.
Talent Acquisition Manager
First, there was a quick phone chat to go over your resume, talk about why you want this job, and see if you generally vibe with the company and role. Then, an in-person meeting with the hiring manager to dive into your experience, skills, and how you'd tackle specific tasks for the job. Lastly, a final in-person chat with a Senior Manager to check out your long-term potential, see if you'd fit into the culture, and how your background aligns with the team's bigger picture goals.
- What non-career-related topic would you choose to teach a class on, and what's your reasoning behind that choice?
Technical Sourcer
The hiring process involved 5 rounds. First, an initial pre-screen call. Then, three back-to-back interviews focusing on a sourcing exercise and a deep dive into my resume. This was followed by an interview with the Director. Finally, an offer was extended. Overall, it was a really good experience. The interviews stayed on schedule, all conducted via video. The interviewers were very nice and gave feedback quickly, usually the next day or even the same day. The whole process wrapped up in under 3 weeks. I had plenty of time to get ready for interviews after they were scheduled.
- Tell me about a time when...
- Can you show me how you would approach this sourcing exercise?
Technical Recruiter
Applied to Indeed and heard back from their talent attraction team pretty quickly. Had a short 10-15 minute chat about my background, the job, and what's next. Then they set up a video interview with 4 people from the team. The interviews were detailed, and they answered all my questions, just like the talent attraction team did when I asked them. The Indeed team was really into it and friendly, making it more of a chat than just a work experience interrogation.
- What sets a good recruiter apart from a poor one, in your opinion?
- What makes you want to work for Indeed?
