I applied on Indeed.com, and a recruiter reached out for an initial screening interview before sending feedback to the hiring manager. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager and moved on to the interview loop, which consisted of 5 interviews over 2 days. These included technical interviews for IC level and management interviews. The technical interviews covered manual and automated testing. There was also a mentorship interview, a management interview, and a closing interview that mostly wrapped up how everything went. While the interview structure seemed well-intentioned, I don't think it helped the hiring manager make a well-informed decision because none of the interviewers in the loop were actually on the hiring team. I was given a chance to ask questions at the end of each interview, but the answers were generic and unhelpful since the interviewers weren't part of the hiring team, especially considering the different team structures and technologies at Indeed. This felt unfair to both the hiring manager and me. The management round on the second day felt like a repeat of my initial interview with the hiring manager, which was a bit annoying and might have impacted my performance. I lost interest on the second day.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was contacted by a recruiter for a 30-minute phone interview for this remote role. About a week later, I had my first round interview. The following week, I found out I advanced to the panel interview stage and was given the option to schedule it for a few days later or the following week. I interviewed a few days after that with four interviewers, each for 30-45 minutes. One of the interviews included a 45-minute practical assessment. I was told I'd get feedback by the beginning of the next week, but was kept waiting until Friday to be told I didn't get the job. It felt like a really long and unnecessary process that didn't respect my time, a whole month wasted.

A recruiter from Indeed, Singapore reached out to me on LinkedIn about a Quality Assurance Engineer position in Indeed Japan. We had a initial chat about my current role and contributions, followed by a career walkthrough. After my profile passed the second shortlisting stage by a panel in Tokyo, I was given a take-home project. The process concluded with F2F Skype interviews.
