The interview process was smooth and the hiring manager was great. The interview was a bit long, but I felt comfortable. Even though I wasn't hired, I learned a lot from the process.

So, the process kicked off with an email from a recruiter. My interview path was a bit unique compared to what I'd seen. Based on the email, I went straight to an in-person interview with my potential manager and a senior manager, skipping the usual phone screen. The in-person part was pretty standard; the questions weren't tricky, just direct. They laid out what they needed and wanted to know how I could contribute. After that chat, I shot the recruiter an email about a week later, but heard nothing back. I was a bit bummed and decided to try one last time. About two weeks after that, I emailed again, and thankfully, he got back to me pretty quickly. He let me know he'd just sent over my offer letter via email and to check my inbox, including spam folders!

The recruiter talked to me first. Then I met the hiring manager in person. After the face to face interview, I got the offer. The recruiter offered me 5k more, but after I interviewed and they wanted me, she did the bait and switch.
