Account Executive
A Sales VP reached out on LinkedIn, had a 30-min chat about company strategy and getting to know me. Then, I spoke with a recruiter. They sent me a company slide deck and a solution overview and said the next step was to pitch their product to them. They didn't give a lot of detail, and I hadn't even sent them my resume at this point. There was no open position on their website, and the compensation seemed too good to be true. They wanted the deck completed before the call. They seem disorganized and possibly looking for free work with no intention of hiring. It seemed like a hard pass, so I never spoke to them again, and they never followed up. From reviews, it looks like this is typical.
- Are you curious?
- When can you start?
Account Executive
It was a pretty standard process for an AE position, starting with a recruiter screening, then a hiring manager interview, followed by a peer interview, and finally a panel presentation. The whole engagement felt a bit low-energy, and the process dragged on a bit longer than I'd preferred, but it was acceptable.
- Can you discuss your background?
- Could you describe your previous role?
- What are your sales KPIs?
Account Executive
It was a 5-step interview process. The last one was a panel interview where I had to do a pitch with a deck I prepared beforehand. I actually liked the process, even though I wasn't selected after the panel. They only had 2 candidates in the final stage and told me they went with someone from that specific industry.
- Could you share an instance of a deal that went wrong? Did you ultimately give up, and what was the outcome?
