The main part of the hiring process is a practical task, which is a bit long but was made to see actual skills, not just book smarts. Doing the assignment takes time, focus, and figuring things out, and it naturally shows how keen a candidate is to join. What was cool during the interviews was that the HR and QA leads were really professional and experienced, and they didn't ask pointless questions. Instead, we talked about practical, relevant stuff that's like what you actually do every day. It made for a much better and more useful chat.

Behavioral Presentation

A Sales VP reached out on LinkedIn, had a 30-min chat about company strategy and getting to know me. Then, I spoke with a recruiter. They sent me a company slide deck and a solution overview and said the next step was to pitch their product to them. They didn't give a lot of detail, and I hadn't even sent them my resume at this point. There was no open position on their website, and the compensation seemed too good to be true. They wanted the deck completed before the call. They seem disorganized and possibly looking for free work with no intention of hiring. It seemed like a hard pass, so I never spoke to them again, and they never followed up. From reviews, it looks like this is typical.

So this whole thing had seven rounds. It's basically like doing monkey testing. First up, HR checks you out. Then, some brain teasers and personality stuff. After that, a technical chat with the QA Lead. The questions weren't super hard, but they were a bit fuzzy, you know? You had to talk it through to get what they meant. A weird thing was they kept asking about handling stress in every single round. Then there's this take-home assignment that you get seven days for. The app itself isn't complicated, but with endless possibilities like in any QA gig, the task is HUGE. It felt more like they just wanted to dump a week's worth of work on you rather than see your skills. After the seven days, you have to defend your work. They'll ask things like, 'What would you tweak about what you did?', 'Did you dig the project?', 'Can you see yourself here?', plus talk about the bugs you found and test cases you wrote. I asked about moving to the automation team and they said 'no', but mentioned other ways to move up. Then came the cultural fit chat and reference checks. The whole thing dragged on for two months. They say it's 10 AM to 6 PM with 'unlimited' vacation, but it's really like 20 days, and sometimes you gotta work weekends too. Some folks might wonder why I didn't just bail, but a massive layoff made me apply here anyway. Seriously, avoid this place unless you're in a really tight spot.

The whole thing was awful. Took them 3 months to get back to me after I applied, then they set up a screening interview and just ghosted me. They finally reached out a week later with a weak apology. Then I had a hiring manager interview, and then silence for 6 weeks. The recruiter kept saying they'd give updates but never did unless I nudged them. For the next interview, they totally ignored my availability and sent me an email at 1 AM for a 3 PM interview the same day. Unbelievable, but I showed up. Turns out the hiring manager had left the company and the job wasn't what I originally applied for. Worst experience ever with a potential employer.
