Applied online and got a recruiter call. They asked about my resume and Salesforce tech. After that, I had a phone screen with an engineer. They postponed it a few times and changed interviewers, which took weeks. Finally had the technical call with some Salesforce questions and use cases. The engineer liked my skills and wanted to move forward. Then I got a take-home exercise to do ASAP, I used Java and submitted it on Github. A week later, the recruiter called to schedule a manager call about the exercise. The manager asked me to walk through my code, about handling large data, and design patterns. They also asked about my current Salesforce job duties. A few days later, the recruiter called saying the manager liked me and they want to proceed with an offer. We discussed salary and location details. The next step was a formal meeting with the CEO and then an official offer letter. A week later, the recruiter called again saying the position is on hold indefinitely. It was frustrating to spend over a month going through everything and ending up with nothing. I realized something was seriously wrong with the company after checking Glassdoor. They should not start hiring if they are unsure about the position. I think it's due to their poor management.

So we started with some basic questions, and if you get them right, they go deeper. There were three stages in total. First, a technical phone call. Second, a practical test. And the last one was a Skype call with the managers in the US.

I got an interview call on 4 July 2018 from a job portal for Incapsulate Ahmedabad for a Salesforce Developer position. There were 2 Skype technical rounds. I thought I had cleared them and the HR round was next. Then I got another call for a practical round from Bansari Shah. I had to write some code based on requirements. I shared my screen on Skype and completed the practical round. I submitted it in two hours, including screenshots. It involved an Apex controller, VF page, and a test class with 100% code coverage, submitted to Harsh. When I asked for an evaluation, I received a regret email. The feedback on Skype was: 'We checked your practical and some of the things are not as we expected. There are no validations. We were expecting contacts in tabular format, which was not there. The test class is not proper with best Salesforce practices.' The response also questioned how I could expect everything to be perfect in the first attempt, especially a VF page, given the unclear requirements.
