So it was Msquared. Everyone was really nice and fun to talk to, so definitely give it a shot. I unfortunately failed the last round, but maybe I'll have a chance in the future. It's been a while, but there was definitely a behavioral interview, some technical interviews, and an interview with the CEO. The behavioral and chat with CEO felt like a casual conversation, they tell you about them, you tell them about you. It was one of the best experiences I had.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • A take-home assignment was given, followed by a technical interview focused on explaining your process and design decisions.
  • A simple systems design interview was also included.

Technical

This was a really weird interview process. It started with a call from a talent partner. Then, I had a call with a designer who talked about their projects and clients. They then asked me 4 questions about React and TypeScript, and I assume this is how they assess technical skills. Honestly, I'd suggest rethinking the hiring process because it was one of the oddest I've encountered.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you explain the meaning of 'unknown' in TypeScript?
  • What does the 'any' type signify in TypeScript?

The interview process had many steps but moved really fast. Everyone I talked to was super nice, professional, and helpful. The HR team kept me updated with regular calls. First, I had an initial chat with HR about my past experience and what the company does. Then, a screening interview with the hiring manager to go deeper into my previous projects technically. After that, a quick tech screening with a small React assignment. Following that, a 2-hour technical interview where I had to design a more complex React app. Finally, an interview with the CEO about the company and why I wanted to join.
