Technical Product Manager
We had a bunch of interviews, which was great because it really let me get a feel for the company culture. It was a mix of technical and behavioural interviews, and then a final 'fit' interview with the CEO. For most of the interviews, there were two interviewers.
- Can you share an example of when you exemplified our company values?
- How do you navigate disagreements with team members?
- Walk me through a successful product launch and its key performance indicators.
Product Manager
I talked to HR, then met a senior product person at their office in Farringdon. I got offered another interview but passed. I had a weird feeling about the office interview; the interviewer didn't even say hi and it was just strange. They said it was for a Product Manager, but then told me it was actually for a Product Analyst and that maybe I could be a PM if I worked hard. I also felt like I'd have to live at the office.
- Tell me about your experience with standard questions.
Product Manager
Got contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter. They set up a phone call to talk more about the company and see if I'd be interested. But, the recruiter on the call grilled me like it was an actual interview, even when I mentioned it was an intro call and I hadn't applied yet. They asked some pretty probing questions while I was talking, and I was totally unprepared, not knowing what experience to share since I didn't know the specific Product role. After that, I got to ask a few questions about the company. When I asked what was next, they said they'd discuss it internally. Don't expect to hear back, but honestly, it showed me what I needed to know about them. It's a bummer because I was interested.
- What prompted your departure from Company X?
- What has been the most significant learning from your present role?
