The interview started off well. There were two rounds in total, but unfortunately, I didn't make it to the second technical round. The first round was a 1-on-1 session that lasted for two hours. The interviewer focused on core Java concepts and presented scenario-based questions.

Started with a recruiter call. Then had a call with a Senior developer. He was late for the interview and didn't turn on his camera, even though the recruiter had asked me to record the session. He spent time going through my resume and then left me waiting on a blank screen for 5 minutes. The questions he asked seemed to expect me to guess his thoughts. When I tried to clarify or discuss a question, he would abruptly change it mid-way. After about half an hour, he just ended the interview.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain the design choices behind Java's object model from its creators' perspective?
  • What distinguishes microservices from REST APIs?
  • What are the consequences of not overriding the equals and hashcode methods in a class?
