First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Imperva.
Security Analyst
The first interview round went great, and the HR said they'd send an invite for the next round meeting within a few hours. It's been 3 days with no update, and even after sending several reminders, I haven't heard back.
- Can you explain OWASP?
- What are BOT attacks?
- What is the IPSEC protocol?
SOC Analyst
Applied online for the SOC analyst role. About a month later, HR contacted me via email and phone. HR was pretty quick in setting up the technical interview. I'm giving this a negative rating because I ended up interviewing for a Cloud Security Engineer position, which is a step up, but honestly, I wasn't prepared for that level. They send out questions beforehand for you to prep, but it felt unfair since I wasn't interviewed for the SOC analyst job, which I think would have been a better fit for my past experience.
- Can you list the top 10 OWASP vulnerabilities and explain how to prevent them?
- What specific Linux command would you use to change the read, write, and execute permissions on a file?
IT Security Analyst
The interview process was really smooth and quick. It started with a recruiter chat, then two phone calls (one was technical), and finally an in-person interview with four different people. They were very flexible with my schedule the whole time. I also learned a lot about the company because they gave me chances to see if I'd actually like working there, not just asked me stuff.
- What are your career aspirations for the next three years?
