Account Executive
I interviewed multiple times via phone and in-person for the AE role in Indianapolis with both the recruiter and the hiring manager. After putting in a lot of effort, I was informed that there wasn't actually a job opening. I was told I did great and that they'd bring me back for a final meeting and offer once something became available. I've followed up professionally through LinkedIn, email, and text for months with no response. This seems to be how they operate, wasting people's time on fake jobs and then ghosting them, which speaks to their unprofessional and careless business practices. So, I'm glad I found out before joining. Based on my experience and others' similar stories, I'd advise saving your time and not pursuing this opportunity.
- Could you walk me through your sales process step-by-step?
Account Executive
The process began with a recruiter screening call, followed by an on-site interview with the hiring manager. After successfully navigating those two stages, I participated in a full-day ride-along on-site. All three stages were relatively straightforward. I even had the chance to speak with the VP during these interviews. I felt I was a good fit culturally and that the team liked me throughout each phase. One of the AEs even mentioned that progressing this far indicated I fit the culture and was well-liked. My experience includes over 6 years as an AE, SAE, and enterprise AE. Post-ride-along, I was asked to confirm via email if I wanted to proceed to the final stage, which would be an offer and a meeting with the CEO. I responded and, after not hearing back for nearly a week, followed up with the recruiter. The recruiter then informed me they'd prefer to hire me as an SDR, which was quite surprising. I demonstrated I understood their processes and had prior experience selling similar tech solutions. The overall process was not a good experience for me because if they weren't looking to hire an AE initially, they should have stated that upfront. Putting me through a demanding hiring process only to suggest a significant pay cut and a role I held over 8 years ago at the last minute felt unprofessional and like a waste of my time, especially since I had other offers and preferred this company. I wish them well but share this to caution other AE applicants.
- Could you share the typical duration of your sales cycles?
Account Executive
It was a nice interview process, recruiter, in person with the sales manager, a shadow day with one of the AE and final interview. I almost made it to the shadow day however, they filled the position before I got a chance. They offer me an opportunity to interview for an SDR role however, I felt my experience was over qualified.
