Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Impact Analytics.
Business Analyst
The interview process had four rounds. First, there was an aptitude test. Second, a technical interview focusing on Excel, SQL, and Python. Third, a case-based discussion with a senior manager for a Sr/Jr Business Analyst role, where the difficulty would be based on the role you applied for (Sr/Jr), covering Python & SQL. Fourth, a managerial round.
- Can you tell me about your experience with your previous employer?
- Could you share some responses to scenario-based questions?
Business Analyst
So I had a first call where I mentioned my 90-day notice period is firm. They were cool with it and we moved on. I did 2 technical rounds and passed both. They told me to hold on for the HR round for about a week. I emailed them a few times but got no response. When I finally reached out to HR, they said they have candidates with shorter notice periods (under 30 days) and need someone quickly. This completely contradicts what we initially discussed. It feels like a waste of everyone's time, and their internal communication is really poor.
- Could you tell me about your experience with SQL?
- What are your skills in Excel?
- Do you have experience with Python?
Business Analyst
The interview process had four rounds and took about 7-8 weeks. The first two rounds were technical. The third round was a business fitment with a Project Manager. The last round was an in-person managerial interview in Bangalore. After the first three rounds, HR was unresponsive. She eventually said they were waiting on results from other candidates from a hiring drive. Two weeks later, she said the position was on hold. More than a month later, she called for an in-person HR round, stating they needed an immediate joiner and could only wait 30 days max. Since they made me wait so long, I lost interest and declined the offer.
- In SQL, what is the order of query execution?
- Could you explain GROUP BY and window functions in SQL?
- How do you create a pivot table in Excel?
